Judėjimo „Prieš atominę ir vandenilinę bombą“ Japonijoje narys, Černobylio medicinos Centro Lietuvoje įkūrėjas ir ilgametis vadovas gydytojas Gediminas Rimdeika pokalbyje su bibliotekos direktore Salvinija Kociene pasiūlė bibliotekoje surengti plakatų parodą “Hiroshima ir Nagasaki. Lietuvos medicinos biblioteka nuolat kaupia ir sistemina medžiagą radiacinės saugos klausimais. Ši tema yra aktuali tiek medikams, tiek visuomenei, todėl mielai sutikome surengti šią parodą Lietuvos medicinos bibliotekoje.

Chief Medical Officer Gediminas Rimdeika, a member of the Movement “Before the Atomic and Hydrogen Bomb” in Japan, the founder and head of the Chornobyl Center in Lithuania, in a conversation with Salvinija Kocienė, the director of Lithuanian Library of Medicine, proposed to host a poster exhibition “Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Bomb and Humanity” dedicated to the tragedy of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

The Lithuanian Library of Medicine constantly collects and systematizes materials on radiation protection issues. This topic is relevant to both medical and social issues, so we agreed to organize this exhibition at the Lithuanian Library of Medicine.

In order to draw the attention of the public not only to the tragedy of the past, but to answer some questions about relevant issues that have arisen today: threats and incentives for the closure and construction of the Ignalina, Chernobyl and Astravsk power plants, public health and nature.

The invitation to the opening of the exhibition is issued to following people:

His Excellency Mr. Toyoei Shigeeda and representatives of the embassy.

Doctor Gediminas Rimdeika. Member of the Movement “Before the atomic and hydrogen bomb” in Japan, representative of the Movement Council in Lithuania and the Baltic States, authorized to organize these exhibitions, the founder and long-time leader of the Chernobyl Medical Center in Lithuania.
